Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has expressed his feelings following his re-debut with the Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu. The Colombian returned for the Merengues after over two years and described the feeling as ‘unique’.
The former Monaco star was loaned out to Bayern Munich in 2017 with an option to buy him outright for the Bavarians. However, both James and Bayern decided against staying at Munich and, as a result, the Colombian had to come back to Madrid.
Initially, he was supposed to be sold with Zinedine Zidane not really sharing a great relationship with him but it now seems that their problems may be buried as the Frenchman started him against Valladolid and also praised his performance for the Blancos.
Following the match, James took to Twitter to express his joy and stated that the team will continue to keep working hard as a means to improve their performance.
“Back at the Bernabeu after a long time,” James posted on Twitter following the draw.
“It was a unique feeling. Thanks to the fans for the support. We will continue to work in order to improve.”
The Merengues will play Villarreal next in the league and the former Porto star would be hoping that he gets a chance to shine again after playing really well against Valladolid in the last game.
