Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that the departure of Aaron Ramsey would be a big blow for the club and added that his new employers Juventus would be gaining a top talent.

Ramsey was initially offered a deal by the Gunners hierarchy and then reportedly took it off the table, giving the Welshman the option to go to another club on a free transfer. The Bianconeri  swooped in for the player, and signed him up on a permanent basis for next season.

However, Wenger believes that it was a mistake for the north London club to let go of Ramsey, and said that the English club will find it hard to replace the player in the summer.

According to Goal, he said, “It will be a loss for Arsenal. I must say it will be an interesting move for Ramsey.”

“He is a player who is great going forward. His main quality is he can keep the final ball and he makes interesting runs from deep. You don’t find many players today who can make midfield runs off the ball. It will be an interesting addition for Juventus.”

The Welshman has been at the club for around a decade, joining the Gunners as a teenager, and helped them win the FA Cup thrice, scoring two goals in the finals in 2014 and 2017. He has also been a constant attacking threat, which will be hard to replace for the club.

With Mesut Ozil also seemingly relegated to the bench, it remains to be seen who Arsenal sign in the summer to help them in their quest to return to the top four.
