Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has stated that he wants to stay at Barcelona despite interest in him from Italian giants Inter Milan.
Inter were extremely interested in signing Vidal during the summer transfer window, but the midfielder turned down the move to Serie A. His season started off in a nondescript manner, but that seems to have changed after the Champions League clash against Inter at the Camp Nou.
With the Nerazzurri leading, the Chilean midfielder came on in the second half, and instantly created a chance for Luis Suarez that helped them them level. The Blaugrana eventually went on to win the game 2-1.
“I don’t know if it was me who changed the course of the match, but I felt very comfortable,” he said.
“When I enter the pitch, I just think about giving everything I have, helping my teammates and doing everything I need to get to victory. The start of the season was quite difficult but I remained calm. I trained as hard as I could and was more than ready to do what I had to in those last two matches.
“I don’t know what happened. Only the coach knows for sure as he’s the one who makes the decisions,” he said when asked why he wasn’t featuring in the initial games.

“It’s clear that I arrived late to preseason, alongside Arthur, as we were involved in the Copa America. From that moment we worked as hard as possible to get fit again. I didn’t feature in my national team’s last few friendlies because I wasn’t as fit as my teammates.
“Everything else comes down to the coach and who he decides should play. There are a lot of similar footballers who play in midfield here but I’m different. I need to attack, defend and cover a lot of distance.
“If the coach or the team tells me to leave.. I’ll gladly do that. I don’t mind. But I believe I still have a lot more to give here and I want to achieve more things. I still need to lift the Champions League,” the Chilean concluded.
