Budget 2019 Live Updates On Markets: Sensex Rises Over 100 Points, Nifty At 10,861

Budget 2019: On Thursday, Sensex and Nifty closed 1.87% and 1.68% higher respectively.

Domestic stock markets started Friday’s session on a higher note ahead of Budget 2019 announcement. The S&P BSE Sensex surged as much as 131.15 points to touch 36,387.84, while the Nifty50 barometer of the National Stock Exchange rose by 41.2 points to hit 10,872.15. The gains on Dalal Street were led primarily by buying in IT, auto and FMCG stocks. Heavyweights Infosys, HDFC, Reliance Industries, Larsen & Tourbo and HCL Tech contributed the most to the advances on the Sensex. Asian shares ticked up to four-month highs on Friday on hopes the leaders from the United States and China could strike a trade deal and as the Federal Reserve appeared to have all but abandoned a plan to raise interest rates further.
