Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo might not have had the best time in the UEFA Champions League this season when compared to the recent past but he has ensured that he remains on top of one list, beating fellow rival and Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi in the process.
The 34-year-old’s strike against Manchester United won the Goal of the Tournament, a game which saw the Ronaldo latch onto Leonardo Bonucci’s lofted through ball to smash home a volley against his former club last November.

Messi’s strike in the form of a stunning free-kick against Liverpool in the semi-final first leg came in second place, while Liverpool’s Sadio Mane came in third courtesy of his brilliant goal against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 second leg.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner enjoyed an impressive debut campaign in Italy where his 21 goals helped Juventus clinch their eighth succcesive league title, with Ronaldo also being named the Serie A Footballer of the Year, making him the first person to recieve the award in theree separate leagues.
However, Messi’s stunning form has overshadowed his achievements particularly this season as his 51 goals in 50 games not only helped Barcelona win the La Liga, but also saw him win a record sixth European Golden Shoe.
