The winger had yet another spectacular season with the London club, scoring 10 goals and assisting five times in the Premier League, and was generally involved in everything positive for the Eagles.
While Palace fans would be very unhappy with him leaving as it would practically be impossible to replace him, most of them would accept that they could not have kept a talent like him at the club any longer.
Zaha, a self-professed Arsenal fan, was asked about his future at the AFCON after the Ivory Coast’s win over Namibia, where he lashed a goal into the bottom corner as part of his contributions.
“I have no comment on it [Arsenal’s bid]. The only thing that’s on my mind right now is trying to win this cup [Africa Cup of Nations],” the 26-year-old told On Sport, reported by Metro.
When he was pushed on whether he’d like to play for Arsenal, the Ivorian added, “I don’t know. We’ll see in the future.”
Wilfried Zaha would be hoping to ensure the Ivory Coast’s progress against underdogs Mali in the round of 16, and continue on their path to the title, before he thinks about his club future.
