Mohamed Salah has been an uncharted success at Liverpool ever since he signed for them in the beginning of the 2017/18 season.

The Egyptian winger has 132 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s men, scoring 85 goals and assisting 37.

In the two full seasons since he joined, he finished as top scorer in the Premier League twice and is on the brink of propelling Liverpool to their first domestic title in 30 years.

In short, the Egyptian has been nothing short of phenomenal.

However, when he was signed for £34.3m in 2017, fans weren’t best pleased with Liverpool’s outlay. Many of them went on to accuse the Merseyside club of overspending on a player whose first stint in the Premier League, at Chelsea, didnt work out for him.

Some fans slammed him as a waste of money. One fan even went far enough to claim that Salah was nothing more than an ‘Egyptian Matt Jarvis’

Oh, how wrong the footballing world can be at times. Little did they know then that he would prove to be an absolute steal for what Liverpool spent – or that he’d go on to become one of the best players in the world.
