FA Cup: Three things to Look out for as Wolverhampton Wanderers Face Liverpool | ht_media

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool travel to the Molineux Stadium to take on fellow Premier League team Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final game of the third round of the FA Cup. The Reds will be smarting from their defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium that ended their unbeaten run in the league and will look to get back to winning ways.

Here are three things to look out for in the Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Liverpool game.

3. Rebound match

Roberto Firmino,Mohamed Salah

Liverpool had their unbeaten run in the Premier League ended by defending champions Manchester City, which has cut their lead at the top to four points. They will want to ensure that their season does not spiral out of control and so would want to avoid defeat at all costs.

A replay would also not be a great result for them, considering they already have a packed schedule in the coming months.

2. Wolves’ poor FA Cup form

Nuno Espirito Santo

Wolverhampton Wanderers have not had a great few seasons in the FA Cup, especially at home. They have not won in their last six home games in the competition, but can take heart from the fact that they have a special liking towards Liverpool, having won four of their last six matches in the cup.

Their recent form also has been topsy turvy, so it remains to be seen which Wolves side will turn up tonight.

1. Klopp’s FA Cup hoodoo

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has had a poor FA Cup in the three seasons he has been in England. This will be his fourth FA Cup, and will want to do better than the fourth round defeats he has faced in the last three years.

While he would have hoped an easier opponent than the high flying Wolves, beating a Premier League side in the FA Cup will give back confidence to his team after their dispiriting defeat to Manchester City.
