Former Real Madrid forward, Predrag Mijatovic has opened up on the signing of Eden Hazard, claiming that the Belgian won’t be able to achieve the same levels of performances like Cristiano Ronaldo did during his time with the Los Blancos.

Hazard completed a much awaited and big-money switch from Chelsea in the summer and is expected to play a key role for the club under Zinedine Zidane in 2019/20, but with Ronaldo scoring a staggering 450 goals in just 438 games, it is unlikely that he will match those numbers.

Mijatovic who played for Madrid for three years between 1996-1999, does not think that Hazard can replicate the performances of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“Hazard is a very good player, for sure. He is one of the best players in Europe. But, in my opinion, we can’t expect him to do what Cristiano Ronaldo did. In my opinion, it’s impossible – there is no player who can play like Ronaldo. The pressure at Madrid is different to the pressure at Chelsea and you need some time to handle that,” he said to Goal.

Hazard who missed Madrid’s first two games due to injury, is expected to miss their next game against Villarreal, with it being hoped that he could return in time for their clash against Levante on the 14th of September after the international break.
