Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias Pogba has laid the blame for the midfielder’s poor form at Manchester United squarely on the shoulders of former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho, claiming that, “Mourinho always wanted to be the centre of attention.”
Mourinho was sacked by the club last month following their poor run of form and amid reports of unrest among the players in the dressing room. The Portugese gaffer also fell out with Pogba, with the duo sharing a fractious relationship, one which saw Mourinho benching the Frenchman for some important games.
Pogba for his part struggled for form and consistency under Mourinho especially this season, something which Mathias blames the former manager for.

“The problem was Mourinho, right down the line. In the locker room, outside the locker room…everything. I know my brother, and you tell him, go, play, the rest, he will do it. From what we see of Mourinho, he always wants to be the maestro – the centre of attention,” Mathias said as quoted by Goal.
“Paul, he does not even calculate that aspect, you respect him, he will respect you, you trust him, he will perform for you in big matches.”
There has been an upturn in Pogba’s form since Mourinho was dismissed, with the midfielder scoring four goals and registering three assists under new interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
