If you want a luxurious beard, you must have beard oil in your kit. One of the biggest advantages of using beard oils is that they are natural and hence don’t damage your skin or beard. Making one at home helps you control the quality of oils used. Tip: Use a dark-coloured, amber bottle that comes with a dropper for making and storing the oil – and store away from light. Here’s a list of oils you can use to tame rough beard hair:
Eucalyptus oil includes antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that give a good boost to your beard growth.
What to do: Put 6 tbsp of olive oil in a bottle and mix 2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil to it.
Shake to mix well. Massage it in your beard.
Let this stay for about 30 minutes and wash with cold water.
Coconut oil is an excellent moisturising agent. What to do: Fill a bottle with extra virgin coconut oil, add 10 drops of rosemary oil to it and mix well. Use it at bedtime and wash off the next morning.
Tea tree oil
This beard oil improves the quality of the beard as it hydrates your beard and smells good too. What to do: Take two drops each of eucalyptus and tea-tree essential oil. Mix sweet almond oil to it. Massage on your beard and keep for 15 minutes before washing.
A beard oil that’s made of lime oil and sweet orange is a certified soother. What to do: Take 20 ml of sweet almond oil, add 5 ml of jojoba oil to it and mix. Next, take 2-3 drops each of sweet orange oil and lime oil. Shake to mix well.
