Manchester United‘s top transfer target, Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly has finally broken his silence on transfer rumours surrounding him, admitting that he is pleased to be attracting interest from top clubs.
The Senegal centre-back is understood to be top of a four-man shortlist as the Red Devils search for a world class defender in the summer. Napoli are reported to be wanting a total of £90m to part ways with their star man.
While rumours continue to grow, Koulibaly has done very less to avoid speculation despite pledging his allegiance to Napoli.
While speaking to RAI Sport on Friday, the 27-year-old defender was asked about his future plans and he said, “My future? I don’t know if I’m one of the strongest defenders. I always try to give my best.”
He continued, “Since I’m here, I always try to grow with Napoli. I have a lot of motivation to go on and I want to keep doing this. I am pleased that many teams follow me, but I want to demonstrate on the field that I am at the level of the greatest and I want to show it in the future.”
Manchester United are said to have already begun their preparations of what will be a crazy summer window this year. The Red Devils did not make any new additions in January and Koulibaly remains top of their transfer wish list. They are also said to be keeping tabs on Inter star Milan Skriniar ahead of the summer transfer window.
