Paris Saint-Germain shot-stopper, Gianluigi Buffon, was ecstatic with his side’s performance in Tuesday’s Champions League win at Manchester United, claiming the Parisians made the victory “seem easy.”
Goals from Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe guided Paris Saint-Germain to a comfortable 2-0 win at Old Trafford in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.
Despite dealing with the absences of Neymar and Edinson Cavani, PSG produced one of their best performances of the season and Buffon, who enjoyed a quite comfortable outing, felt his team-mates made the win seem like a walk in the park.
“We made it seem easy by putting everything we had into those 90 minutes, the unity that is fundamental in this competition,” Buffon told Sky Sports Italia, as quoted by Goal.
“We took some risks, but they allowed us to breathe when under pressure and break their attempt at pressing. In such a balanced tie, that is worth so much.”
The 41-year-old, who picked up his 50th clean sheet in the competition on Tuesday, also talked about his future at the club.
“The contract is not a thought in my mind, to be honest,” Buffon added.
“I just want to keep enjoying my football, being useful to the club and my team-mates, whether on the field or if needed off it. It has never been a problem for me to deal with a contract when I was 30 years old, let alone 41.”
