Chelsea welcome Newcastle United for their second home game of 2019.
The first game wasn’t so great for the Blues, as they were held to a disappointing goalless draw by Southampton. They will want to get back to winning ways against Rafa Benitez’s troubled side.
Here is how Chelsea could line up:
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Kepa Arrizabalaga (GK) – The Spaniard will be the undisputed first choice for the game.
Cesar Azpilicueta (RB) – Sarri has reverted ‘Dave’ back his favoured right back position this season, and it has worked wonders as the Spaniard continues to be one of Chelsea’s better players.
Antonio Rudiger (CB) – Rudiger has been among Sarri’s most trusted players and is a solid starter in the heart of defence.
David Luiz (CB) – The Brazilian will start alongside Rudiger.
Marcos Alonso (LB) – Marcos Alonso will once again provide an attacking threat from the left side of defence.
Jorginho (DM): At the heart of Maurizio Sarri’s midfield, lies the crown prince from his Napoli years. Jorginho will once again line up as the ‘regista’ this weekend.
N’Golo Kante (CM): The tireless Frenchman will no doubt impress once again this weekend.
Ross Barkley (CM): Sarri has given the Englishman the nod in recent weeks as Kovacic continues to struggle with injuries.
Willian (RW): The Brazilian has been inconsistent lately, and may be unsettled by his recent links with a move to Barcelona.
Callum Hudson-Odoi (LW): Against Tottenham, the youngster was given the chance to impress on the left wing in Pedro’s absence, and he didn’t fail.
Eden Hazard (CF): Sarri has found an alternative to the lack of form of his strikers, with putting up the Belgian out on the front of the attacking lead.
