Manchester United continue their pre-season in Australia, with their second game against their old rivals Leeds United. The Red Devils will have worked on some of the issues during their win against Perth Glory, while Leeds will hope to continue their winning run having beaten York City and Guiseley in their pre-season so far.
Here are three things to look out for in the Manchester United vs Leeds United game.
3. Positive signs from new players
For Manchester United, both Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka impressed during their stints in the 2-0 win over Perth Glory. Although, it would be futile to read too much into one performance in a part of the first pre-season game, fans will be hoping the new signings will continue to give them the positivity they need before the new season begins.
Leeds will be tougher competition and how they cope will be interesting to see.
2. Only half of Leeds
Leeds United have, somewhat surprisingly, brought only half of their team on the pre-season tour, with the rest of the squad staying back in England. Manager Marcelo Bielsa will be preparing another onslaught in the Championship to help the team get promotion, and will need his team to get into their rhythm soon as their season starts early August.
Although this is just a pre-season game, the rivalry between the two clubs means it will be anything but a friendly. Both teams will want to get a win in this game, but will also need to be careful to not end up injuring themselves in the process.
With Leeds much further in their pre-season preparations, they might end up having the upper hand in the game.
