Premier League: 3 Things to Look Forward to as Southampton Host Manchester United | ht_media

Daniel James

Manchester United travel to the St. Mary’s Stadium to face Southampton and will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at home. The hosts, for their part, will be looking to take advantage of Manchester United’s propensity to drop points.

Here are three things to look forward to as Southampton host Manchester United.

3. United’s form

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have managed only one win in their last eight league matches and have not won an away game since their triumph over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last season. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a job on his hands to ensure they do not fall any further behind as dropping more points could even make top six difficult.

2. Return to form

Ralph Hasenhuttl

After the first two weekends ended in disappointment, Southampton have registered two away wins, in the Premier League and in the League Cup. With United currently not in the best form, Southampton will look to take more points this weekend and hope to get out of the relegation zone they currently find themselves in.

1. Only one striker

Marcus Rashford

With the injury to Anthony Martial and the departures of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku, United have only one senior forward to look to for their goals. With Rashford not always producing on a consistent basis, and the drop in confidence he would face following his penalty miss, it remains to be seen how Manchester United will cope.
