Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari has confirmed that his side will “fight for everything” this season as they gear up to face rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the El Clasico and Derbi respectively.
The Los Blancos cruised past Alaves 3-0 in the La Liga on Sunday, courtesy of goals from Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Mariano Diaz. This was their fifth win on the trot in all competitions, with the Spanish giants set to face two of their toughest games in the coming weeks.
Santiago Solari: “March, April, February, January, December, November, October… All of the games are important if you want to remain in the competitions, both those that we’ll play in and those that we’ve already played in. This team is well used to this stage of the season.” pic.twitter.com/mvJYC3C11f

“We are going to fight for everything, always, right until the end, hopefully, of the season. That would mean we have reached both [Copa and Champions League] finals. Today I saw hunger to make up points [on Barca]. Madrid never gives up, we always go out to win, regardless of the mathematics,” Solari said post the game.
The win on the night saw Madrid move up to third in the La Liga table, with the Los Blancos registering 42 points from 22 games, two behind second-placed Atletico and eight behind leaders Barcelona.
The two rivals were drawn together in the semifinal of the Copa del Rey which is arguably the biggest game in club football, with Madrid going into the game in brilliant form. They also have an advantage in the fact that Barcelona might be without their talisman Lionel Messi, who is a doubt for the game with a thigh injury.
