Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho is said to be “sad” at Barcelona, but continues to receive the backing of his fellow teammates and management. According to Sport, the midfielder is currently lacking confidence on the pitch, but this has not deterred the club management, who believe that he will come good in the future and justify their investment in him.
Things might not be going well on the field for the 26-year-old, but he behaves exquisitely off the field in his manners and professionalism. This trait has endeared him to his teammates, who value his behaviour and has earned him their support as he looks for form.
While not a failure during his time at the Nou Camp, Coutinho has struggled for consistency on the pitch, with manager Ernesto Valverde hoping that he would take confidence from his impressive display against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey recently.
The midfielder sadly failed to build from that, putting in poor performances against Valencia and Real Madrid, which has earned him the ire of fans and football pundits. With winger Ousmane Dembele set to return from injury, it will be interesting to see how Valverde goes about his team selection, considering that the Frenchman has been brilliant for them this season.
