The CBI arrested 4 officers of the Sports activities Authority of India (SAI) — together with a director — after a raid on the company’s Lodhi Street workplace in New Delhi on Thursday, information company ANI quoted sources as saying. Two different people have been additionally taken into custody in the middle of the continued operation.
The CBI officers reportedly reached the SAI headquarters on the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium round 5 pm and sealed the premises. The raids have been performed over complaints of alleged corruption within the company’s transport division, sources stated.
“There have been complaints that some officers have been taking bribes for approving work,” ANI quoted a supply as saying. The sports activities authority had reportedly requested the CBI to analyze the matter, he added.
“There’s zero tolerance for corruption within the SAI. We are going to assist any motion in opposition to corruption,” stated SAI director common Neelam Kapoor.
