Sir Kenny Dalglish has hailed Liverpool left-back, Andrew Robertson, claiming that very few are better than the 24-year-old in his position. The Scotland international has been a mainstay on the left flank since joining the Reds for just £8 million from Hull City in 2017.
His tireless runs, an acute sense of positioning and commitment have helped the Reds mount a title challenge, leading to some great words of encouragement from the Liverpool legend.
“Robertson’s journey from unemployment to stardom is the story of a man persevering in the face of adversity & now enjoying the reward.”

Writing in his Sunday Post column, Dalglish said: “For Andy to be where he was just seven years ago – when he was let go by Celtic – to where he is now, is a classic example to any young footballer that you should never give up and never stop believing.”
“Indeed, to young players up and down the UK who are freed every year by the big clubs, Andy is a role model. He has displayed just what can be achieved by hard work, perseverance and dedication.”
“His level of consistency has been reflected in this new deal. It’s a great endorsement of Andy’s ability and just what everyone at the football club thinks of him, from the coaching staff to players such as Virgil van Dijk, James Milner, Jordan Henderson and Mo Salah.”
