West Ham United will welcome Liverpool to the London Stadium on Monday, with the Hammers keen to keep up with their competition in the race for European football.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side suffered a devastating blow to their aspirations in the shape of a 3-0 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out, and they will be looking to move on as quickly as possible.

Here’s how they could line up against the league leaders.

Lukasz Fabianski

Lukasz Fabianski (GK) – The West Ham goalkeeper suffered an arm injury last time out against Wolves, but he will likely retain his place in the lineup.

Pablo Zabaleta (RB) – 34-year-old Zabaleta will have his work cut out for him against Liverpool‘s dynamic attack, but he certainly has the quality to rise to the occasion.

Issa Diop (CB) – The towering youngster has starred for the Hammers this season, and he will be looking for another top performance on Monday.

Angelo Ogbonna (CB) – With Fabian Balbuena and Winston Reid still unavailable, expect Ogbonna to partner Diop in defence.

Arthur Masuaku (LB) – Aaron Creswell faces a late fitness test after a hamstring injury, but Monday could come too soon for him, meaning Masuaku will likely continue in the team.

2. Midfielders

Declan Rice

Michail Antonio (RM) – Antonio’s energy could be vital for West Ham’s chances to slow down Liverpool’s electric forwards.

Declan Rice (CM) – The youngster seems destined for a big future, and he will be looking to cement his reputation with another impressive performance on Monday.

Mark Noble (CM) – The club captain will be asked to patrol the midfield and disrupt Liverpool as they look to move forward.

Felipe Anderson (LM) – In Anderson, West Ham have their own eye-catching superstar and they will certainly call on him to provide a spark going forward.

3. Forwards

Marko Arnautovic

Marko Arnautovic (ST) – Arnautovic is recovering from a foot injury, but West Ham will be desperate for the Austrian to feature on Monday.

Javier Hernandez (ST) – Chicharito has been a regular reserve for West Ham, but his status as an elite goal-poacher could prove to be key to the Hammers’ chances of a good result against Liverpool.
